SHOCK HEAD SOUL by Simon Pummell
World Premiere

SHOCK HEAD SOUL examines the life and work of Daniel Paul Schreber, a German lawyer who, in 1893 and at the height of his successful career as judge, received messages from God stating that in order to save the world, he must change into a woman. The film combines documentary, animation and  dramatized reconstructions.

Shock Head Soul is produced by Hot Property Productions (UK) and Submarine Productions (NL), in association with Illuminations Films (UK) and in co-production with seriousFilm (NL).

The Dutch minority co-production VIVAN LAS ANTIPODAS! will be the second opening film at the Venice Film Festival. Viktor Kossakovsky takes us in VIVAN LAS ANTIPODAS! on a unique journey around the world, to the few places that lie exactly opposite of each other, but not in the ocean.

The film is produced by Ma.Ja.De (Germany) and co-produced by Lemming Film (The Netherlands), Gema Films (Argentina) and Aplaplac Producciones (Chili).

World Premiere

In 7th century Arabia lived the great poet of love Qays. Today the walls of Gaza are covered with the words of his poems, transcribed by a young Palestinian who claims his impossible love for the woman he wants to marry. Prisoners in the open air, imprisoned by the logic of social conventions and policies that ignore them, the two boys seek freedom.

HABIBI is a minority co-production between The Netherlands (S.Y. Films), USA, United Arab Emirates and Palestine.
