The Hell of 63 record TV audience

2 February, 2012

Feature film THE HELL OF '63 has attracted almost 2 million TV viewers last Wednesday evening. In the past seven years no other movie screened on Dutch television has gotten such a big audience. This appears from the numbers from Stichting Kijkonderzoek, the Dutch organisation dedicated to monitoring the national viewer ratings. The last time a film scored this high was on the first day of 2005. On 1 January 2005 the comedy BRIDGET JONES' DIARY starring Renée Zellweger attracted 2.1 million viewers.

THE HELL OF '63, directed and produced by Steven de Jong, is based on the true facts of one fateful day in 1963 when, due to plunging temperatures and rough terrain, thousands of skaters suffered frostbite and shocking injuries.
Only a small number would cross the finish-line, but for those who did, it was to be a life-changing event!
